The tree they used to kill God
I was walking through Crenver grove a few days ago with my youngest son Fin, not yet five. It was a chilly but sunny January day and Fin was eagerly pointing out to me fallen trees which I could use to make sculptures. We came across a tree which was resting against the trunk of another. It has been wedged there for years. I suggested to Fin that maybe the dead trees had been playing hide and seek and this one was hiding from it's friends behind this large tree. He looked at me, unimpressed by my story and said, "Is this the tree they used to kill God?"
The suggestive powers of these woods which have inspired me are obviously not lost on Fin!
